vCenter plugin wizard helps you to create a web based plugins
The creator is Ricky El-Quasem from Virtualizeplanet.com. Particulary usefull if you want to personalize your vCenter installation with your company website for example. You can download the plugin for free from here.
Update: Now the plugin has a new feature – to be able to uninstall too… -:)
Be sure to read the enclosed PDF before you start, because there are some rules to respect.
It allows you to register websites or web portals within your vCenter VI Client. It’s a 2 step process. Step1 involves creating an xml which is the visual configuration and contains the actual url link to plugin your website. Step2. Requires you to register this plugin within the VI SDK.
The default location of the XML file is here:
“c:\programfiles\vmware\infrastructure\tomcat\webapps\ui\plugin”
After the second step when you click on the create button, there is a small window which appears and stays there for few seconds. Just the time register the plugin. Then you can safely exit the wizard and you can see the result here.
There is a new TAB called ESX Virtualization… -:) You can resister several websites in your vCenter if you wish. And the final result can be seen here. You can see the last TAB on the right hand side…
Enjoy…
