While waiting for vSphere 6.7 Update 3 (currently in Beta), VMware released recently the third update for vSphere 6.5. The vSphere 6.5 Update 3 is a maintenance release only which does not bring any new functionality, but rather adds some new drivers and fixes few bugs.
Few minor enhancements to point out, for example for ESXi, you can track license usage, refresh switch topology and see improvements in the search and Developer Center.
Or for the vCenter server which adds external database support for vCenter on Windows which now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2014 SP3.
One of the new driver releases also fixes a bug which prevented to see the LED for disks for locating the disks. This has been added as a fix within the latest security patch for ESXi.
- You might not be able to locate and turn on the LED for disks under a lsi-msgpt3 controller using a lsi-msgpt3 async driver. This fix updates the lsu-lsi-lsi-msgpt3-plugin to work with the inbox and async lsi-msgpt3 drivers.
