Prevent downloading the VMware Infrastructure Client via the Web Browser.
You already know that you can download the VI client via your web browser, but you don't know that you also can prevent to appear the link for downloading the client to your clients. Oh yes.
Your cliens do not need to see the download link. There is an excelent article on Rich Brambley's page explaining the whole process of modifying the html file. Basically what do you need to do is to modify the html code of the webpage where the link is. You can find the file at:
/usr/lib/vmware/hostd/docroot/index.html
Rich is even providing link to download the modified file directly so you do not need to worry about the modifications.
