With a recent release of VMware SRM 4, there has been also a new feature introduced.
VMware SRM was released few weeks back. SRM 4.0 is fully compatible with VMware vSphere 4. VMWare Site Recovery helps you create and successfully test recovery plans for your datacenter.
VMware SRM is used to protect the whole data center and in case of fire for example, you'll be able to continue the business from another place. Basically you need to setup a SAN replication and you must have a vCenter on both sites installed.
One of the new features in SRM 4.0 is the Shared Recovery Site.
Shared Recovery Site (also called N-to-1) is a new feature of SRM 4.0. This feature allows the management of multiple SRM environments by a single vCenter 4.0 instance on the recovery side. Each environment is identified by a custom plug-in named extension.
This video comes from VMware KB site and on that KB website there are some cool videos I already talked in several posts back. Those are step-by-step videos very useful when you need to do a specific setup or so.
