Project Onyx, for non scripting people…

Project ONYX is a very interesting initiative from The PowerCLI team. What is Onyx and how it can helps you to write scripts.

I never write scripts. I'm not a programmer. The only think I can do is to adapt existing scripts a little.. that's all. I'm sure that I'm not alone. Not everyone wants and can write scripts. With project Onyx you now have the possibilities to record your tasks inside of your VI client and at the output you can copy paste the script and use it in the powershell comandlets.

Sure it's just the beginning, but if you watch this video from Carter Shanklin, you see how powerful the thing is. And especially useful for stuff you can't script or where you don't find any “ready to use” scripts. Like this you don't have to go through the huge piles of API documentation to look for the names too.
