In case you did not discovered yet until today, there are some cool tools on run-virtual.com. Richard Garsthagen does great job providing all those tools from his blog.
So here are thee tools. I did not test all of them, there are quite a few…Only one of them did not work for me. I do not know, it might be a originally created for ESX 3. But most of them are fine.
VMware CPU-host info.
This tools will allow you to read out all CPU information from all your ESX Servers by querying your VC server.
It will show what features are available on your CPUs and if they are compatible to vmotion VMs and if FT is supported.
Virtual MAC Tools.
Little application that can change the MAC address of your VM instead of editing manually the VMX files…..
VM Time.
Little tool to check the Tim inside your VM and compare to the time on the Host where the VM is running. It's especially useful whether you need to track a time differences for example when you run your domain controler on a VM.
VM Perfmon
Apparently the prog is not working, because I got an error executing it. I tried within a 2003R2 VM.
This is a simple program to actually measure the actual performance within a VM. It uses the VI3 GuestSDK and shows a graph of the actual CPU usage (not what the VM thinks, but real world usage) and displays in text more information about memory and cpu usage.
