This advanced cert exam has been released by VMware today. After passing this exam and you're already VCAP5-DCA, VCAP5-DCD or VCDX5, you'll earn automatically VCP-Cloud certification. The exam has 115 questions with multiple choices, drag-and-drop or design
items. Passing score 300 out of maximum 500 remains the same as on the other VMware exams. The exam's length is three hours and 15 minutes (195 minutes).
This VCAP-CID certification is designed for experienced cloud architects, VCAP-CID certification verifies that you can define goals for the architecture, analyze elements of the framework, and make design decisions that ensure the proper physical and virtual components exist in the design.
If you're only VCP5 (or rather VCP5-DV), then you can take the recommended vCloud Design 1.5 best practices course, but it's not an obligatory course. Only highly recommended…. You can see all the different paths below:
To achieve VCAP-CID status, you must complete two core components:
- Have one of the following certifications:
- VMware Certified Professional 5 – Datacenter Virtualization (VCP5-DV)
- VMware Certified Professional – Cloud (VCP-Cloud)
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 – Datacenter Administration (VCAP5-DCA)
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 – Datacenter Design (VCAP5-DCD)
- VMware Certified Design Expert 5 – Datacenter Virtualization (VCDX5-DV)
- Pass the VCAP-CID exam
