VMware Hands-On Labs for Public Beta Interest List has been opened. VMware Hands on labs remotely? That is something that everybody is waiting for. This remote labs will be accessible to test different VMware technology without the need having physical lab at home or nested ESXi lab running on your laptop – you could certainly read my blog post How to setup nested vSphere Lab on a PC by using VMware Workstation.
The HOL aren't opened yet, there is just the pre-registration for the service, for beta testing. But you'll be able to test the service and maybe report a bug or two.
There is a HOL community forum where you can interact with other users of HOL and also find a new friends as well.
If you were not attending this year's VMworld, you can also download from the forum the VMware 2012 Hand-On Labs poster in PDF format.
Imagine that all the superb labs that you could not do during VMworld? Now they'll be accessible remotely? Well, I say that, but I don't know which content will be provided, but makes me quite excited about that.
The news has been shared during Portland VMUG and you can also read about it on the website.
A quick quote from the launch:
HOL Online Public Beta is now open. If you registered with our interest list at https://hol.vmware.com/ you will receive your login credentials over the coming weeks. We are adding people slowly at first to ensure a smooth and functional launch.
Once you receive your invitation, we ask that you login, explore the catalog and provide feedback. Specifically, please comment on the user interface, lab manual content and overall experience of taking Hands-on Labs from the comfort of your own home or office.
Looking forward to a successful public beta!
Sincerely, The VMware Hands-on Labs Team
