Comparing Flash website user experience between View and Xen Desktop.
I just found this newly published video on YouTube. This video was done by VMware and shows you the user experience, side by side, between VMware View v 5.0 and Xen Desktop v 5.5. Three different tests are showed in this video.
1) youtube Flash video
2) Windows Media Player
3) embedded Flash on a website.
UPDATE: The source of the video comes from an article explaining the setup configuration here.
But basically, the virtual machines are hosted by a third-party provider, SoftLayer, at a Datacenter in Dallas, Texas. Both iPad 2s connect to the virtual desktops over the WiFi network. One iPad 2 is using VMware View 5 and the other is using Citrix XenDesktop 5.5.
As you can see, VMware View is slightly better than Xen.
A quick quote from the article:
This video demonstrates the superior user experience provided by VMware View 5 over Citrix XenDesktop 5.5 Receiver on an iPad 2 using three different scenarios:
1) youtube Flash video,
2) Windows Media Player
3) embedded Flash on a website.
The video lays on this link.
And here is the video:
