I received a vExpert Award for 2011 – the third time in a row…
It's a great pleasure to receive that award again. The results this year were more or less announced through twitter, since the first person who received that magic e-mail from John Troyer had immediately told the story to the others and the tweets were just raining through my tweetdeck. This rain of tweets stayed several hours and I was lucky to actually see that since my location – Reunion Island – is actually 12hours ahead of the US time zone…. -:).
The announce arrived from John Troyer who is the Social Media Community “Guru” at VMware so thanks to him and the voting committee from VMware.
Who would have imagine that several years ago, in 2008 when this website started as a simple bookmarking site. A first it helped me to to remember some step-by-step processes and how to articles. And I wanted to have some sort of my bookmarks online, which I would access from anywhere, instead of using delicious or other online bookmarking services. That's how the blog started.
The blogging and helping other people by publishing how-to articles and videos finally helped not only me but many others since the website today receives some decent traffic and got quite a few RSS subscribers.
The daily works finally pays off and I'm trying to innovate too as much as I can. The articles are always using images. At least one image per article. Picture is worth thousands words….
A quick quote from the e-mail I received from John Troyer:
Dear Vladan SEGET,

Welcome to the vExpert 2011 Program!
Stay tuned for more via RSS or you can subscribe via e-mail for Weekly newsletter. I'm also running YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
vladan.fr got fairly popular on google. I don't know how you, but did you ever searched your name on google? I recently did, and I was quite supprised that vladan.fr is number 1…. (searching text vladan only).
Quite unbelievable… -:)
Can anyone of you say the same?
