VMware support has seen an increase in performance problems due to the new CPUs utilizing LLC cache. The idea is that LLC is a shared cache for multi-core cpus. Each core inside a CPU package has its own L1 and L2 cache that is dedicated to that particular core. But with the modern multi-core processor, one of the things that the CPU vendors are doing is building a last-level cache around all of these cores so it’s a shared cache for all Copyright ©2012 Global Knowledge Training LLC.
